Paddy finds himself sentenced to ten years in prison, thanks to his brother Séamus. As he adjusts to his new life inside, he gets to know his cellmate, James. Overtime, their pasts and presents become more and more intertwined. When Paddy discovers his younger sister is in danger, he must do all he can from inside jail to try and keep her safe. When He Cries is a story of guilt, regret, forgiveness and redemption.

When He Cries is the standalone sequel to one of Green Oak Theatre’s previous plays, If I Could Save Her. Watch the filmed version below.

The show will be performed 11-14th September 2025. Stay tuned for more information about auditions.
